A fulfilling adult life begins here.

Matthias Living residents follow a structured weekday routine, including breakfast, personal care, and the option to attend a day program. Those returning from the program have time for relaxation, meals, and independent activities. Weekends often involve community outings and meeting up with residents from other houses.

To the extent they are able and interested, residents are encouraged to participate in household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, making beds, or helping with cleaning. The staff emphasizes “supportive independence,” providing guidance while encouraging residents to take on responsibilities.

Welcome home to opportunities, love and acceptance.

Matthias Living has Adult Family Homes serving students in neighborhood communities within twenty minutes of the campus. To accommodate the needs of the adults residing in them, our homes include accessible entrances, exits and showers, full kitchen and laundry facilities, sensory experience rooms, and calming spaces.

Creating an environment that promotes independence.

Each home is appropriately staffed to accommodate our residents’ needs and their most active periods of the day. Our residential staff works together as a team—always ready to step in and support one another when the need arises.

Staff responsibilities include safety, welfare, medication management, and monitoring calorie counts. Future plans include a skilled nursing facility to accommodate more residents and provide comprehensive care, including G-tube feeds and tracheostomy care.

Staying connected with the community.

Three women sit together at a restaurant table with menus and red plates; two hold hands across the table while the third leans in close, creating a warm, supportive moment as baskets of tortilla chips sit in front of them under string lights.

Out & About

Getting out to enjoy activities, events, recreation and local attractions are just some of the ways Matthias Living residents stay connected with the community.

Two residents sit side by side in the back of a van, both wearing seatbelts; one wears a maroon polo shirt and looks calmly toward the camera, while the other wears a blue T-shirt and gestures with their hands as they look ahead, with daylight visible through the vehicle windows.

Transportation

Transportation is tailored to each home’s needs. We maintain a fleet of 20+ campus vehicles to ensure our residents have the opportunity to travel, experience endless opportunities and meet new friends.

My favorite thing about being a part of Matthias are by far the students/residents. They have given me a greater purpose in life, and have helped shape who I am as a person. The meaningful, and lasting connections I've made with them, and their families have been amazing.
